The Active Outdoors Philosophy
At Active Outdoors, we understand there are a wide variety of reasons why
sportsmen hunt and fish. Among them are the joys of being outdoors in a
natural setting, spending time with friends and embracing the challenge
of pursuit. Sporting is also a way to trade, what are for many of us,
routine, urban lifestyles for unpredictable, adventurous moments.
At its best, time spent hunting and fishing is a spiritually rewarding
pursuit.
There are also a wide variety of sportsmen, all with their own personal
reasons for dedicating time and energy to their individual passions.
But we believe at the base of each sportsman's belief system is a quest
for pure, preserved lands. In the field, the air is fresher, the water
clearer. The senses awaken and
all of one's appetites grow. Food, friendships and life all taste better outside.
When the distractions of society are
stripped away, one feels more like a man or a woman, more alive.
Maintaning this necessitates conservation.
From trout fly fishermen to African big game hunters, all true sportsmen
are dedicated to preserving the natural quality of their fields
and streams. All have respect for their quarry, their habitat and
indigenous species that share the land. For most sportsmen, the pleasure
is in the quest, not the conquest. Many release their prize; all consume
the hunted without waste. Sportsmen want to leave their children game
populations greater than those they inherited and unspoiled wilderness
areas in which to follow their passions and instincts.
We strongly believe that Active Outdoors automation of park and wildlife
agency processes allows more labor, capital and other resources to be
targeted to conservation efforts. Our systems are designed to make the outdoors more accessible to all.
