- Phone in your license application information & have your license mailed to you, 1-518-457-8862 (M-F, 8:30 to 4:00). Computerized fishing licenses (only) may be purchased with a credit card through a special telephone number. Applicants should have the following items ready: Complete name and address information; Proof of Residency information (driver's license number or non-driver's ID number to qualify for a resident license); MasterCard or Visa number and card expiration date.
- Fishing licenses may be purchased Statewide from license issuing agents (town and county clerks, some major discount stores, and many sporting goods stores).

- Sporting Licenses may be purchased over the counter at license issuing outlets, such as sporting goods stores, town clerk offices, and some major discount stores. Licenses are no longer sold at DEC regional offices (except Region 1 on Long Island), but may be purchased by mail or in person at the NYSDEC License Sales Office, 50 Wolf Road Room 151, Albany, NY 12233-4790.
